Contraindications
Waxing Hair Removal Treatments
For the majority of people, waxing based treatment has long been accepted as a safe and effective treatment. However, like all treatments, certain contraindications need to be considered for your own safety.
Please talk to your aesthetician about your conditions before booking. If you are taking any medication or have an existing medical condition or concern not listed, please consult with your doctor first.

ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS
Waxing cannot be performed if you have had laser skin resurfacing within the past year, or if you have had a physician administered peel within the past two years.
Sunburned or irritated areas cannot be waxed.
Moles cannot be waxed.
If you are currently using any of the following prescription medications, you cannot receive a waxing service. You must discontinue use of these medications for a period of three months prior to waxing. The exception is Accutane - you must be off this medication at least one year prior to waxing:

Avita (See Retin A)
Differin (Acne medication)
Isotretinoin (See Accutane)
Renova (See Retin A)

Tazarotene (See Tazorac)
Tretinoin (See Retin A)
If you have any ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS you cannot be treated.
PARTIAL CONTRAINDICATIONS
You must wait a minimum of seven days before waxing after a light peel or microdermabrasion treatment.
If you are currently using any of the following, please inform your aesthetician because these products can make your skin more sensitive, and thin, sensitive skin, is more vulnerable to lifting and sensitivity during waxing:

Oral Antibiotics

Retinol
Salicylic Acid
Exfoliants
If you have any PARTIAL CONTRAINDICATIONS you may or may not be suitable for treatment. Your aesthetician will advise the best course of action in a consultation.
