Consultation

It is compulsory for treatment clients to have an extensive consultation first:

  • Recording all medical history and conditions.

  • Assess if the treatment is appropriate for you.

  • Explain the process and what to expect.

  • Detail pre and post treatment care instructions.

Because certain health conditions, medications, supplements and lifestyle factors may affect treatment, you will be required to complete a Plasma Consultation Form for qualified assessment prior to any treatment.

Pre-Treatment Care

In the lead up to your treatment ensure:

  • No fake tan 1-2 weeks prior to your treatment.

  • No sun exposure 2 weeks prior to your treatment (use SPF 30+ daily).

  • No injectable treatments for the 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

  • For tanned to dark complexions or skins prone to post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, it is recommended to use a melanin inhibiting skin regime for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  • If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), it is recommended to take or apply a targeted prophylaxis, such as acyclovir, to prevent a possible outbreak.

  • Please shave the area to be treated prior to your treatment.

In-Treatment Care

A topical anesthetic cream (lidocaine - 4-7% active ingredient) needs to be used just prior to undergoing treatment. You need to know that your skin is not going to be reactive to an anesthetic cream, and you must purchase the anesthetic cream at a pharmacy and then bring it along to the treatment booking. The anesthetic will only be applied to the your skin by the aesthetician if you authorise the aesthetician to apply the topical anesthetic. Alternatively you can apply the topical anesthetic yourself.

Your aesthetician will take all steps to ensure total comfort for your treatment. If at any point you feel discomfort, please inform them immediately. If you have any allergies or have had any past reaction to topical numbing cream or anesthetic, please inform your aesthetician prior to treatment.

Post-Treatment Care

  • SPF 30+ sunblock is a must.

  • During the skin healing process you will experience erythema/red or pink skin and crust formation on the treated skin.

  • You must not pick or scratch your treated skin. Scabs should be left on skin and not be removed, so as to provide the best healing results.

  • It is important to apply a cold compress after treatment, a soothing moisturizer, SPF 30-50 sunblock and only mineral make up.
